Professional Experience

Mr. McEachern began his professional career with Ernst & Ernst upon his graduation from Texas A&M University in 1971. He joined Fitts Roberts Kolkhorst in 1975 and became the firm’s managing shareholder from 1997 to 2017 with a primary focus on auditing and litigation services. He has been actively involved in auditing both public and private companies since the beginning of his career with experience in a wide array of industries, government and the non-profit sector. His litigation service experience includes matter involving auditing standards and accounting principles.

He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs and the Houston CPA Society and has served in various leadership roles in those professional organizations. He has served in the AICPA as a member of the Auditing Standards Board, the Peer Review Board, the Joint Trial Board, and as a member and Chairman of the Technical Issues Committee. He has also served as a member of the AICPA Council. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the TSCPA for over 20 years and has served two terms on its executive committee. He has also chaired its Peer Review Board and the Audit Committee, in addition to serving on numerous other committees. He is also a long time member of the Houston CPA Society, having served in various leadership roles, including a term as its President.

He has been named by both the Accounting Today and the CPA Magazine to the “Top 100 Most Influential” people in the CPA profession several times.
