Lawrence (Larry) E. Tanner, CPA, joined Fitts Roberts Kolkhorst in 1966 and began working with closely-held and family business owners as well as heading up the Auditing Services. Larry provided over 50 years of professional and civic leadership for the firm and his community. He served as President/Managing Officer of Fitts Roberts Kolkhorst for 12 years. Before that he was the Financial Administrative Officer for 4 years. Prior to Fitts Roberts Kolkhorst, Larry was a financial industry specialist for Ernst & Ernst.

Today, he consults with business owners on management issues, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and selling of businesses or business units.

Larry serves on the board of directors and the executive committee for the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and advises other not-for-profit organizations on management issues and development activities. He is a past member of the Texas Capital Bank Board of Directors and a past member of various planning, strategic, and special purpose committees for Southern Methodist University, Houston Baptist University, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, St. Agnes Academy, and St. Francis de Sales church and school.

He is a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a lifetime member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Houston Chapter of TSCPA. Larry previously presented Management of an Accounting Practice seminars for the Houston Chapter of TSCPA.
Larry is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BBA in accounting. He is married to Kay and they have five children and five grandchildren. Larry and Kay enjoy traveling and have been to places as far away as Russia and Africa.
